The most useful message you can send. Include the tool, the numbers you put in, and the answer you expected. These get fixed first.
Something is broken
A page that will not load, a button that does nothing, a layout that breaks on your phone. Your browser and device help a lot here.
A tool you wish existed
Most tools on this site exist because someone needed one and it was not there. Tell me what you were trying to work out.
An accessibility barrier
If something blocks you from using a tool with a screen reader, keyboard or magnifier, say so and it will be treated as a bug, not a feature request.
A translation that reads badly
The site is published in seven languages. If a phrase is wrong or unnatural in yours, corrections are very welcome.
Privacy, data or legal
Requests under GDPR, questions about the privacy policy, press enquiries and business matters all go to the same address.
Reporting a calculation error
Corrections are the messages I care most about, because a calculator that is quietly wrong is worse than no calculator at all. To make a report actionable, include the address of the tool page, the exact values you entered, the result the tool produced, and the result you believe is correct — a reference or the formula you used is even better.
Confirmed errors get fixed and the working shown on the page is updated to match. If the tool was right and the disagreement is over a convention or a rounding rule, I will say so and explain which convention the tool follows.

Before you write
Two questions come up often enough to answer here. Are the tools really free? Yes — there is no paid tier, no usage limit and no account. The site is funded by advertising. Do you keep the files I process? No. Nearly every tool runs entirely in your browser and no file is uploaded anywhere; the about page explains how that works and the privacy policy lists the few tools that do have to make a network request.
