Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 August 2026
Summary
Files and text you put into a tool on this site are processed by your own browser and are never uploaded to us. We do not ask for an account, a name or an email address. The one meaningful exception to "we collect nothing" is advertising: raatools/ carries Google AdSense, and Google sets cookies and processes data under its own policies, subject to the consent choice you make on your first visit.
The rest of this page states that in detail.
Who is responsible
raatools/ is operated by Raadig AS, organisation number NO 833 209 132, registered in Norway. Raadig AS is the data controller for personal data processed through this site. You can reach us at mail@raadig.no or through the contact page.
No accounts, no sign-up
raatools/ has no registration, no login and no user profiles. Every tool works anonymously. We hold no database of users because there is no mechanism by which you could become one.
Your files and input never reach us
Nearly every tool on this site runs entirely as JavaScript inside your browser. When you merge PDFs, compress an image, decode a resistor, hash a string or convert a unit, the data is read from your device, processed on your device, and returned on your device. It is not transmitted, not stored, and not retained after you leave the page.
This is a property of how the site is built rather than a policy commitment we are asking you to take on trust. You can confirm it by opening your browser's developer tools, switching to the network tab, and using any of the file or text tools.
Tools that do make a network request
A few tools ask a question that can only be answered by another computer. These send the minimum needed to get an answer, and the request goes from your browser to the service concerned:
- My IP / browser info — reveals your IP address, which is inherent to making any web request
- WHOIS, DNS lookup, HTTP headers, SSL checker — send the domain or host name you typed
- Currency converter — fetches published exchange rates; your amounts are not sent
We do not log the content of these lookups against you or build any history from them.
Cookies and local storage
Set by us: your light/dark theme preference and your cookie consent choice
are kept in your browser's localStorage. These never leave your device and are
not readable by us.
Set by Google: if you consent to advertising cookies, Google AdSense and its partners may store cookies and similar identifiers on your device to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure performance. If you decline, ads may still be shown but are served in a non-personalised form.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes the stored consent and brings the banner back.
Advertising
raatools/ is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. Google is an independent controller for the data it processes in serving ads, under Google's privacy policy.
You can control or switch off ad personalisation across all sites at myadcenter.google.com, and see the vendors Google works with at its partner sites page.
Analytics
We use aggregate web analytics to see which tools get used and which pages break — page views, referring pages, broad geographic region, device type. It tells us that a tool was used, never who used it or what they put into it. We do not sell this data, share it for marketing, or attempt to identify individuals from it.
Legal basis for processing
For visitors in the EEA and the UK, we rely on the following bases under the GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — advertising and any non-essential cookies, collected through the banner on your first visit and withdrawable at any time
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — aggregate analytics and server security logging, to keep the site working and defend it against abuse
Data retention
We hold no personal data to retain. Server access logs, which may include IP addresses, are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting and then discarded. Data held by Google in connection with advertising is retained under Google's own schedules, which we do not control.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable form. Write to mail@raadig.no and we will respond within one month.
In practice, we usually hold nothing that identifies you, and our honest answer to an access request will often be that there is nothing to hand over. Requests concerning data held by Google about your ad profile are best made to Google directly.
If you believe your data has been mishandled you may complain to your national supervisory authority. In Norway this is Datatilsynet.
International transfers
raatools/ is hosted in Norway. Google's advertising infrastructure operates globally, and data processed by Google may be transferred outside the EEA under the safeguards described in its own policies.
Children
raatools/ is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the site requires no account, we have no means of establishing any visitor's age.
Third-party links
Tool pages and articles link to external sites — datasheets, standards bodies, reference material. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy stops at the edge of raatools.net.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be noted on this page rather than made silently.
