Unit and colour conversion happens locally. Currency has to fetch published rates, since exchange rates are not something a browser can know — that is the one request this category makes, and it sends no amounts.

Ounces, gallons and tons are not one unit each
The imperial system quietly forked. A US fluid ounce is 29.57 ml; an imperial one is 28.41 ml. A US gallon is 3.785 litres against the imperial 4.546 — a 20% gap, which is why a car's stated fuel economy shifts depending on which side of the Atlantic quoted it.
Weight has the same trap. A US short ton is 2000 lb, a UK long ton 2240 lb, and a metric tonne 1000 kg, or about 2205 lb. Three different quantities sharing a name.
And "ounce" spans two dimensions: a fluid ounce measures volume, an ounce measures mass, and they are only interchangeable for water by coincidence of definition. A recipe calling for 8 oz of flour means weight; 8 fl oz of milk means volume. Converting one as the other is how baking goes wrong.
